Creation/Evolution
Should evolution and creation both be taught in public schools? This is one of those debates that sparks a lot of strong emotions on both sides of the issue. And it never goes away. But we could settle it and put it to rest for a long time using the unique "Meet and Vote" program. And this is the perfect issue to be settled using this process. The fact that such a long standing issue like this could be fairly settled in a week or two by the American Taxpayers themselves speaks volumes for the validity of the "Meet and Vote" program.
Most important to settling this matter properly would be a series of meetings (televised in the evenings) designed to inform the viewer concerning both sides of the issue. Both sides of the issue equally and fairly explained (in layman's terms) by the experts would be our focus. This is a very important step in the process. If the taxpayers don't understand both sides of each issue well, they can't cast an informed, intelligent vote when that time comes and might possibly end up voting wrong. Being properly informed is key, so that voting is accurate.
In case you haven't read up on the "Meet and Vote" program (in Index 1), this is the main program that separates the American Taxpayer Party from all of the others. Without it the American Taxpayer party is just another political party and I'm just another presidential candidate. With it, however, the will of the people is guaranteed to get done in Washington for a change - in a quick, fair, efficient manner. The "Meet and Vote" program is all about government of the people, by the people, and for the people.
The "Meet and Vote" program is the American Taxpayer party response to a run away federal government that can't seem to get much of anything right these days and a president who thinks he is a king, defying the will of the entire country concerning the Iraq war. It's a response to the political polarization we see amongst our elected representatives. It's also a response to those same legislators who have been much too influenced by special interest lobbyists - and to judges who attempt to legislate on the sly. Basically it's a response to American leadership that needs a course correction.
The "Meet and Vote" program will keep important issues that the American Taxpayers want settled from getting tied up in Congressional committees. This will make the process of settling issues a thousand times faster - and the people will actually be deciding what is best for them rather than national leaders who may be influenced by special interest groups. The "Meet and Vote" program is our chance to restore government of the people, by the people and for the people in Washington, D.C., our nation's capital.
The "Meet and Vote" program is simple. A hot topic that needs to be addressed will be chosen. In this case it's the never ending "Creation vs. Evolution" debate. The nation will "Meet" concerning this issue via nationally televised meetings with the intent of settling it. There will always be a large live audience of American Taxpayers at the meetings. The live audience will play an active role with questions and statements. Those at home will have the opportunity to participate also. Getting the taxpayers involved will be standard practice when we use the "Meet and Vote" process to settle issues.
I will be hosting the meetings as the moderator to make sure both sides have equal time to give their views on the issue, and to keep order - as I expect some issues may become emotionally charged. The vice president will also be there. Some of your elected representatives will also be there. Other national leaders may be there. They will be giving their views as they see fit. As mentioned above, experts on each side of the issue will be there to inform the people, representing both sides of each issue. Remember, these meetings are all about educating the American Taxpayers so that they know what they want when it comes time to vote on that issue.
You can bet that some of the meetings on this issue of creation vs. evolution will be high spirited and emotional. The meetings, designed to inform the taxpayers, will allow equal time and representation for both sides of the issue so that the taxpayers feel that they are getting a balanced education on the topic at hand. This way they can cast an informed "Vote" when that time comes. There will always be a live audience to ask questions of the featured speakers (and national leaders who are present) and to make statements. Viewers at home will also be allowed to ask questions via the telephone and the internet.
After the taxpayers have been properly informed, and both sides have been given equal time to express their views, the people will be given several options concerning the "Vote". The day after the options have been given to the American Taxpayers they will go to their normal voting location and vote their conscience while the issue is still fresh on their minds. The votes will be counted and within a day or two the American Taxpayers will be told about the outcome of the vote. The majority will rule - always. The will of the people will then be enacted into law by your Congress. Fair enough?
Concerning the issue of creation verses evolution it would probably require a week or two of informational meetings before the American Taxpayers would feel comfortable making a decision on whether creation and evolution should both be taught in the public schools. But I am 100% confident that if properly informed on both sides of the issue, the American Taxpayers could accurately choose the proper course for our nation. Then, as long as the meetings were conducted fairly and equally, we could let this one rest for a while.
I would question the motives of anyone who resists this process of settling the issues that the taxpayers want settled. How could it be more fair? How could it be faster? What better way could there be to bypass the Washington politics that taint many decisions made now days? Does anyone other than the American Taxpayer party have such a program to promote the will of the people and to make sure that it gets done? Could there possibly be a better way to keep our Congress and the president in check? Please consider the American Taxpayer party movement in 2008.
