An Introduction to the American Taxpayer party
The American Taxpayer party is new for the 2008 presidential election. This is a grass roots movement with absolutely no ties to big money, big business, any special interest cause or any established political party. It's objective is to field a presidential candidate who will allow the American Taxpayers the opportunity to vote on and make the decisions on the major issues that our leaders either won't address or can't seem to get right these days. [We think that this is partly due to what has become known as the "political polarization" in Washington, partly due to the political atmosphere that has developed over time and partly due to the corruption, crime, and greed that has obviously affected many in power.]
We believe that the American Taxpayers are now getting a good idea of what has been going on in Washington for a long time - as the two parties expose each others scandals and corruption. We also believe that the American Taxpayers are ready for real change. Though the American Taxpayer party is a political party for registration purposes, it is basically a movement of American Taxpayers (from any party) who are tired of Washington insider crime and corruption (of both parties), who are suspicious of beltway politics that put the people last and use their tax money foolishly, and who are displeased about our nation heading in a wrong direction (and realize that it only gets worse year after year no matter who we elect to be our leaders).
No one is being asked to change their political affiliation permanently (as there is no need to replace our Democrat and Republican representatives due to the nature of this movement), but all American Taxpayers are being asked to unite for the 2008 presidential election to right the course of our nation. As for all of these issues that our leaders can't seem to get right, we believe that if the American Taxpayers were properly informed on a particular issue, they would make the right decision for our country if they were given the opportunity to vote on it. And this is the agenda of the American Taxpayer party - to allow the people to make the decisions for a change and then have our legislators enact the will of the people as law.
Major issues facing us today could be settled swiftly and efficiently using the American Taxpayer party's "Meet and Vote" program. The 2008 election is the right time for real change and the American Taxpayer party has the right plan. We believe the timing is perfect for the American Taxpayer party plan and that the people are now ready.
We place the blame for the condition of our society and the wrong direction that our country is headed on our elected leaders - Democrat and Republican - and their poor decision making. This includes all three branches of government - the Executive, the Legislative and the Judicial. There's enough blame to go around. We, the American Taxpayers, are now demanding real change - without changing our Constitution.
Since we are convinced that we will see no real change if the American Taxpayers vote as usual in the 2008 election, we plan to give them a viable option. [For those who think that voting for a third party candidate is a wasted vote, please see Index 1 - " Is a third party vote a wasted vote?"(we have a plan for that too).]
We all can sense that our great nation has some big problems these days and we want leadership that favors the American Taxpayers since we are the ones who are paying for all of this with our hard earned tax money. Foolish decision making and failed policies by our elected leaders (of both parties) have our military personnel involved in questionable wars, have sent thousands of American jobs overseas, have made our country more unsafe, have damaged our nations reputation around the world, and have wasted billions of tax dollars - putting our nation deeply in debt (it is painfully clear that our leaders think that our tax money is theirs to waste at will).
Our society has become less healthy, too fast paced, soft on criminals, less moral and of all things it has become almost impossible for mothers to stay home and raise their children because they are forced to work. And that's just the tip of the iceberg, so to speak. All around us we see problems which have their roots in bad decision making by our leaders in Washington, D.C. Let's be honest, this has happened on the Democratic watch and the Republican watch.
It's past time for real change so we have devised a completely ethical and legal plan ( the "Meet and Vote" program) that will allow the American Taxpayers the opportunity to bypass the Washington politics and make the decisions on the major issues including the Iraq war (if it is still in progress in 2008), illegal immigration, bringing jobs back to America, how to deal with sex criminals, the war on terror and all of the other issues that we think the American people should have a say so in.
Our leaders have forced us into this position and so we will make the decisions and they will enact our decisions into law. This plan, to be implemented by the American Taxpayer presidential candidate (putting him in a neutral position), will allow the American Taxpayers to bypass poor decision making, corruption, and indecision in Washington, D.C. This plan, called the "Meet and Vote" program, is explained in detail on this website. It is the backbone of the American Taxpayer party. It is ingenious, simple, foolproof, and will bring about the real change we are all longing for.
It will also bring hope to those American Taxpayers who find themselves becoming cynical about our nations future. If you read anything on this website please read the section about the "Meet and Vote" program (see Index 1 - "Meet and Vote" program.) There you will find renewed hope that current self destructive trends can be reversed. We firmly believe that we can indeed correct our nations course and, in fact, we have an obligation to do so.
Since this new political party, the American Taxpayer party, is not funded by big money nor has any ties to any big business (and will not accept any donations from any business or company lest our integrity be compromised) please keep in mind that the entire campaign is being run from this website and it's success is dependent on you spreading the word. Since we don't have the big money for advertising we are asking you to tell others. Other types of involvement will help this cause (see Index 1 - "How to get involved/Survey") and anyone from any political party is welcome to and is asked to get involved as they see fit.
All authorized and legitimate information and instruction concerning the American Taxpayer party can only be found at this website. Listening to uninformed media sources will only confuse you as their knowledge is often incomplete and their views may be slanted. Since the media doesn't offer much exposure for any political candidates who are not Democrat or Republican we need for you to tell others about this website.
There is more than enough information on this website to help anyone decide whether they want to get involved. Also, we are making bumper stickers available because they work so well (see Index 1 - "Bumper Sticker campaign"). They are the perfect solution for those who don't really like to talk politics but feel like they want to get involved. Actually you will tell more people with a bumper sticker than by word of mouth - so we have made them available for those who want them.
We are not accepting donations at this time because we know how hard you work for your money and we also know that everyone is trying to get a piece of it. We will go as long as we can before we ask for your donations.
For those who feel that they just have to donate to this cause in a financial manner, please do not send your donations to us. Contact us instead and we will put you in touch with others in your area who feel like you do. You can pool your resources and use your creative abilities to place ads about this website in your local newspapers, put up a billboard, plaster our bumper stickers in creative locations, run radio ads or whatever else you decide. This way you know where 100% of your money is going. Just contact us by email (taxpayerparty@sbcglobal.net)and let us know what your ads are saying so that we can be assured that we are being properly represented. [See Index 1 - "How to get involved/Survey" if you want to be put in touch with others from your area.] And thanks ahead of time to any of you American Taxpayers who see fit to tell others, put bumper stickers on your cars, or alert people in your area to this new found hope for 2008.
The "Meet and Vote" program mentioned above, along with the American Taxpayer party position on all of the issues (over 50 issues are addressed) can be found on this website. You will also find information on other programs (we think that you will especially like the "Enjoy the White House" program), the presidential candidate for the American Taxpayer party, and all other information that you need to know so that you can make an intelligent decision concerning your involvement with the American Taxpayer party.
Whether you find yourself politically on the far right or on the far left or anywhere in between, we think it's time that all American Taxpayers work together for the 2008 election so that we, the American Taxpayers, can make the decisions for a change. Electing a president who is willing to hold a neutral position, who is not locked into a personnel agenda and is willing to be a mediator between the two parties, and who will force the will of the American Taxpayers on our legislators is about the most we can hope for in this great constitutional republic which our founding fathers gave us.
This is what we think it will take to bring about real change in our nation and wake our leaders up. Washington politics will not be able to stand up to the American Taxpayers once we get united and are all willing to accept the will of the majority brought about by the "Meet and Vote" program. No one is going to get their way all of the time but when the majority rules all of the time we have truly achieved government by the people, of the people and for the people. And in the midst of all of the changes it will become obvious which leaders have the good of the electorate in mind and which ones need to be replaced. God bless America and the hardworking American Taxpayers!
