Israel

I realize that no matter what I say about Israel, I'm going to make somebody mad. I also realize that as someone running for president it is very easy for people to take what I say or write about any topic out of context and twist it. So I want to make sure that what I write here about Israel is very clear - to those who hate Israel and to those who love Israel. Consider the following (true) events.

It's 1947 and the Jews have been immigrating to their homeland - the land that God gave them way back when. Those who have returned have been working to promote "statehood" for Israel. Though Jews have been trickling in for several decades (actually back to before the turn of the century), the second world war and the mass exodus from Europe has forced this whole scenario upon the world. And it seems like the Jews are serious about moving back to their "promised land" for good. Multitudes have already left and are still leaving Europe and want their land back, which they were displaced from 2000 years earlier. There's just one obstacle. Arab tribes who live there think it's their land.

Six Arab nations with a combined population of about 50 million people have vowed that they will drive these Jewish immigrants into the Mediterranean Sea. These Arab nations have been well equipped by the British military and they have plenty of tanks, planes, guns and artillery. The Jews who have come back to their homeland to fulfill the prophecies of the prophets are not armed. In fact, the British have made it illegal for the Jews to possess weapons. No one, including the United States, is going to side with the Jewish immigrants because they know what's about to happen - as soon as the Arabs get organized. Besides that, the U.S. needs Arab oil and cannot afford to take sides with the Jewish immigrants. All nations are taking a "wait and see" approach via the United Nations. But is God at work?

Despite British policies in the area, the Jewish immigrants have been able to smuggle some hand guns and rifles in from who knows where. Due to the unorganized efforts of the Arabs, the Jews seem to be holding their own in the small scale "hit and run" skirmishes that have been taking place. But in reality it's a scattered effort by untrained, poorly equipped fighters who have one thing going for them. They have nothing to lose, which makes them fearless and daring. But they need more help fast and are looking for help from someone - anyone. If they could only find one friend in the world who would side with them. But even the U.S. is "officially" non-supportive.

As a last ditch effort they contact a United States Army Colonel who is a Jew. They ask Colonel Mickey Marcus to please consider helping them in this effort to reestablish the Jewish homeland. Why Mickey Marcus? Because he was the one in charge of cleaning up the mess that was the German concentration camps after the war was over. He saw the aftermath of what the Germans had done to the Jews with his own eyes. They know this, and they also know that he has the knowledge to train the Jewish fighters in unconventional warfare. He refuses to help at first, but finally decides that he can't live in such freedom and comfort in the U.S. while his fellow Jews are in the predicament that they are in.

To make a long story short U.S. Colonel Mickey Marcus would become the first Jewish commander since Judas Maccabaeus 100 years before the time of Christ. He would train, prepare and (somehow) help equip the Jews for the soon to come larger scale conflicts with the Arabs. He knows people back in the states and figures a way to get equipment to Israel. The U.S. government closes it's eyes to what's going on. But still, the effort is small. The Jews cannot win this struggle. Everybody knows it.

This whole scenario has a familiar ring to it. It's all been played out before. The "actors" are just different. It's reminiscent of how God worked in the Old Testament times to save Israel from their enemies when the odds against them were insurmountable. It's all there in black and white for anyone to read. But all religion and emotion aside, this is 1947 and the weapons and the circumstances are quite a bit different. These Jews are doomed. Everybody knows it.

Even though the Jews had virtually no chance of defeating all of the Arabs, they somehow came out victorious in 1948. Despite repeated efforts by their enemies to destroy them through the years, here we are 50 years later and Israel has been a nation all of this time. Some say that the hatred the Arabs had for each other helped the Jewish cause. Others emphatically claim divine intervention. Maybe it was some of each. I don't know. I wasn't there. What I do know is that the prophecies of the Jewish prophets about Israel becoming a nation once again were fulfilled in the midst of all of this.

I've never understood why so many people hate or look down on the Jews. Oddly enough there has always been someone trying to wipe them out - from Old Testament times even up to today. They don't go around picking on anybody or threatening other nations. They are always on the defensive against those who would destroy them. It seems to me that all they want is that little strip of land over there and for people to allow them to live in peace. What's wrong with that?

I have always been confused by people who claim to be Christians and yet hate the Jews. Wasn't Jesus Christ a Jew? Isn't that somewhat of an oxymoron - a Christian who hates Christ? Weren't all of the apostles Jews? Wasn't Peter a Jew? Wasn't the apostle Paul? Weren't all of the first Christians Jews? Wasn't the father of the faith, Abraham, the first Hebrew? Wasn't his grandson Israel? Doesn't salvation come from the Jews? Don't Christians owe everything to the Jews? Then it is impossible for a real Christian to hate his Jewish heritage. This seems pretty basic.

It's important for Americans to keep a proper perspective of Israel. They are not just another democracy that needs U.S. protection. Their history is fascinating to say the least. It has all been chronicled for anyone to see in the Old and New Testaments - books given to us by our founding fathers. History concerning the time between the testaments was also closely chronicled (by secular and Jewish witnesses). The fulfillment of the various Jewish prophecies through the centuries is downright eerie. What other proof do we need that there is indeed something special about the Jews? Even today many are watching the prophecies in the Old Testament with one eye and the news on television with the other. Israel seems to be the hinge pin of it all.

As president of the U.S.A. I will continue the tradition of previous presidents to work with Israel for her protection from those who would destroy her. This does not mean that I hate Muslims or that I desire to see the further humiliation of the Arabs. It also does not mean that I don't want to work with Muslims to bring lasting peace to the Middle East. But I do want the Muslims to understand why the United States of America will always stand behind the nation of Israel.

It's not only because Israel is a democracy that we feel deserves to exist, but most of us simply feel closer to the Jews because of the fact that Christianity comes from the Jews. That doesn't mean that we hate Muslims. Our whole system of laws and our culture in general was established by people who were followers of the Old and New Testaments, written by the Jews. And isn't the Old Testament clear on the fact that God loves Israel? Many take that seriously in this country. Nevertheless, I definitely desire friendship with the Muslim nations so that we all can live in peace. The world is big enough for all of us, if we really want peace. [See also "Islam" in Index 2.]

No one should say that I want perpetual problems with the Muslim nations in the Middle East. On the contrary, I want to see all of the problems over there settled. My "Brotherhood of Nations" program is proof that I desire to see all nations live at peace with one another - including all Muslim nations and Israel. Please read about the "Brotherhood of Nations" program elsewhere on this website (see Index 1). This program puts the U.S., Israel, and the Muslim nations on the same side and in a contractual agreement to never attack each other.

See also "War on Terror" and "Middle East" in Index 2 to see how I will seek the advice of the leaders of the Muslim nations in the Middle East to remove the presence of the U.S. military from the Middle East altogether - if that is what they want. I want to work with them. I care about what the Muslim leaders think, because it is their land. It is my opinion that we are headed for a nuclear war in the Middle East if we all don't sit down and try to stop the escalating problems together. That would be catastrophic for the countries in the region.

All human pride, hatred, and anger must be set aside to stop the coming nuclear war from happening. Would it be right for the thousands and thousands of beautiful children over there to be destroyed just because of the pride and the hard headedness of the adults on both sides of this issue? Many innocent lives hang in the balance even as the hatred and anger continues to escalate. We must come together, face to face, and talk this out. [See "Middle East" in Index 2 to understand my plan for this.]

All of that said, keep in mind that my presidency will be concentrating primarily on domestic problems. We, as a nation, will deal with all of these problems in the Middle East including the war on terror and the war in Iraq very early in my administration because the American Taxpayers want it all settled. Besides that I want to get these problems out of the way so that we can concentrate on domestic problems. We will use the "Meet and Vote" process to deal with all of this quickly and efficiently. In this manner the American Taxpayers will have the opportunity to decide the course of our nation. After that we will need to spend our time dealing with the jobs being lost to third world countries, the illegal immigration problem, ridiculous gasoline prices and all of the other hot (domestic) topics that the American Taxpayers want settled.
